DVOC-systeem for plantstress from VOC’s in indoor farms: This project will develop an innovative detection and warning system for stress in crops grown in indoor farms. This data-driven solution will make cultivation risks significantly more manageable in indoor farms. The conditioned and closed cultivation conditions offer a unique opportunity to apply this system on a practical scale, which increases its importance as a modern 'canary in the coal mine'.

The CNB has been using the ethylene analyzer since 2006 to save energy.

Quality loss … a perishable supply chain challenge Lots of fruits and vegetables are being produced in Africa for European consumption and transported to the Netherlands by road, rail (Coolrail) or by sea via Port of Rotterdam. Product loss during transport, warehousing and distribution is about 14%. Transport losses represent almost 4%. Apart from using temperature-controlled transport with fixed settings, there is no monitoring of the quality loss during transport.
